Update 1.1 released!

Today the patch 1.1 has been released. There are two main new features that this update adds to the game.

Endless Mode
Know MegaMan 9 or MegaMan 10 Endless Stage? This is almost like it. When you play as the Secret Character, a new NPC at the mall will give you an endless amount of fresh new randomly generated missions. Each time you win a mission, you get a reward and your next mission will be longer then the previous. Play this mode for a while and you will see the name of this mode is fitting!

Online High Scores
Are you good enough to compete with the best players in the world? When you finish a map of the Arcade Mode, you will see the leaderboard of every high score of different players worldwide. Shoot zombies and gain the high score to show everyone who’s King (yes you even get a crown!) :D

Impossible Jump Easy Mode
Yes, you asked for it, now you got it. The “impossible block jump” will be easier if you play on Normal. ;)

Several bug fixes
Can’t shoot while pressing up? Can’t win against a certain boss? Well, I’m listening to my players and of course I have tried to address as many glitches and flaws as possible. Still not satisfied? Please feel free to discuss it in the forums!

Endless Mode in Patch 1.1

A new feature in the upcoming patch will be the Endless Mode. Ever played MegaMan9 or 10 Endless Stage? Well, then you should know what this is. It means that you can get missions that consist of a number of level segments in random order. The longer you play, the more segments will be added to the random missions.

The Endless Mode will be exclusive for the Secret Character. So better start unlocking ;)

GG2 Update in the Works

If you’re wondering what I’ve been doing the last time, here is the answer. I’m currently working on an update that will include several fixes and new features. It will contain a new gameplay mode for the secret character and (if I can get it to work) a new online high score system for the Arcade mode. If you have any suggestions for this update, go to the GG2 Forums and post it there.

Speaking of the forums, TheGentleRaven has recently posted a 100% Walkthrough in video format over there. You should check it out if you’re stuck somewhere or think the game is too difficult for you. He commented on a lot of areas and shows some neat tricks to master the harder sections of GG2.

GG2 at RockPaperShotgun + Blue Door fix

I was quite surprised today when I got noticed about a mention of GunGirl 2 over at RockPaperShotgun.com! It’s an honor for me and believe it or not, I had nothing to do with it. So thanks a lot :)

Another thing of notice came to me that some people got stuck somewhere in a level because a blue door is closed and the keycard is missing. This is a random glitch I overlooked and I have to apologize for the trouble it caused for some people. However, I’ve made a hot fix for this glitch, which can be found in my GG2 Forum.

Also, thanks for the nice response about the game I got from all around the world so far! It’s my biggest game I’ve made as a single guy (besides the soundtrack from Josh) and it’s a good feeling to see that many people seem to enjoy the game (although the server traffic cost is probably going to kill me by the end of the month).

My apologies for that. But June 5th just became unreachable because of a tragic event that happened very recently. We will still do the best we can to get the game done as good and fast as possible!

I will use the overtime to improve the game further. And I’m not just talking about some lame balance adjustments! I’m currently adding complete new dialogue for all heroes throughout the game. This creates more depth and a different feel for the character you choose. Thanks to Fanotherpg for this suggestion!
